Our team is made up of some of Australia’s leading entrepreneurs and investors. Each member of our team has significant experience across multiple sectors and has the knowledge and deep networks to help founders reach their full potential and achieve their vision.

Our team

Fund executives


    Geoff is a founding partner of OIF and an Investment Committee member. He has significant experience in venture capital, investment banking and commercial law. He is currently Chairman of Monash Private Capital and ASX-listed Cromwell Property. Previously he was CEO of Investec Bank Australia, principal of Wentworth Associates, a partner of Freehills and he has extensive senior board experience.


    David is a founding partner of OIF and an Investment Committee member. He has founded, mentored and invested in numerous start-ups, leading many to successful exits. He is the Chairman of ASX-listed Montech Holdings. Previously, David founded and was the MD of Com Tech Communications, which sold for over $1 billion. David also has extensive senior board experience.


    Jerry is a founding partner of OIF and an Investment Committee member. He has 15 years of technology investing, investment banking and legal experience. Most recently he was an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and CBA. Jerry also founded and successfully exited a payment services company. Jerry graduated from UNSW with a BCom and LLB (both with Distinction) and completed an Executive Management Program at Columbia in New York.


    Laurence has principal investing, venture capital and commercial law experience with a background in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and private equity. Laurence has a keen interest in innovation and investing and co-founded a venture-backed technology business. Laurence graduated with Bachelors of Commerce and Laws (Distinction and Honours) from the University of New South Wales and received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.


    Cara-lee is Head of Operations at Monash Private Capital, driving operational excellence at Monash as well as within Fund portfolio investments. Cara-lee has over 15 years' experience in delivering and managing complex solutions for global organisations. She comes to us via University of Cape Town, B.SC (Hons) (Cum Laude), Accenture and the successful Australian start-up MacromatiX.


    Ali is primarily responsible for investor relations, business development and deal origination for OurCrowd within the Australasian region. Ali previously worked at Gleneagle Securities, working in a number of roles across the company's divisions. Ali graduated as a Merit Scholar at Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance.

Investment committee members

    Joey co-founded and is the CEO of Monash Private Capital. Prior to establishing Monash, Joey was the CFO of Investec Bank Australia, and also chaired the bank's investment committee. Joey is a director of various Monash related companies, including Alleasing, Wentworth Williamson, OurCrowd and ASX listed MOQ Limited. Joey is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from AGSM.


    Dan has over 15 years' experience in private banking, investment and law. Dan is Partner and Managing Director of OurCrowd Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he was Head of Business Affairs at Future Capital Partners in London, having made investments of $10bn+ and previously, Head of the Australian legal team for Infigen Energy. Dan holds a UNSW Bachelor of Commerce and Laws.


    Joshua leads Monash Private Capital's Strategic Solutions operations. With a background in investment banking at Investec Bank Australia and Deutsche Bank, he brings deep corporate transaction experience. Joshua has worked with several start-ups including RangeMe, BellaBox and Recomazing. Joshua holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Hons) from the University of Auckland.

  • Dave Jacobson

    Dave has been involved in the IT industry for 25 years, with significant management, engineering and early-stage investment experience. Dave spent 10 years as Managing Director of MacromatiX, until it was successfully sold to TPG Capital in 2012. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Simpology. Dave holds a B.SC (Electrical engineering) from the University of Witwatersrand.
